2. Sheet or film extrusion

In this process, the materials are cooled by pulling them through a series of cooling rolls. They're also able to achieve the preferred surface texture and sheet thickness via this technique. A process that follows this particular extrusion technique is called thermoforming, in which a sheet is open to heat until it turns into soft plastic so that you can mold it into any shape. But, if you're going to use vacuum when doing this, the technique is often known as vacuum forming.

3. Tubing extrusion

In this process, plastic extruders are used to create tubes like medical tubing and drinking straws. It is also similar to ordinary extrusion except for the die. In this case, a mandrel or pin is used to extrude hollow areas. You can use one or several die based on the number of lumens or holes needed.

4. Compound extrusion

This process uses one or a combination of many polymers to create plastic compounds. You might use powder, liquid or pellets as feeds for injection molding and extrusion.
